She died August 21, 1944 in North Carolina, at 77 years of age.
Mary had already married Hugh C. Plyler when her parents and all her siblings moved to Wills Point, Texas and later to Oklahoma. She and her husband stayed in North Carolina where they were raising their children.
Hugh C. Plyler and Mary Plyler had twelve (12) children who were, Ransom "Rance" Plyler, Isom Plyler, Varnie (Plyler) Funderburk, Wilma (Plyler) Courtney, Dora (Plyler) Rape, Appleton Plyler, Fannie (Plyler) Turner, Millard Plyler, Ophelia (Plyler) Laney and Girvous Laney. (two died as children but don't have their names)
Mary's brothers and sisters were: Daniel Arthur "D. A." Baker, Naomi Abigail (Baker) Lucas, Henrietta Baker (died very young with Typhoid Fever), George Baker, John Baker and Eva Baker (died very young with Typhoid Fever)
One of Mary's granddaughters is Norma Plyler Hurst of Weatherford, TX. She is the daughter of Appleton Plyler.
Mary was buried at Wolf Pond Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
