She grew up and lived most of her life in Harvey. She was united in marriage to Ray Dean Anderson on November 29, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona. She lived in California while Ray was in the Navy and later they returned to Harvey. They later divorced and Margaret moved to Colorado for a few years and worked in the kitchen at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She returned to live in Knoxville and worked for over 15 years in the kitchen at Pella Regional Health Center.
Margaret liked to read, play bingo and slot machines. She loved to meet up in Vegas with her cousin and dearest friend, Maryleta Lyles. She also liked to visit Maryleta at her home in California. She especially enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren.
Margaret passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Westridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 80 years, five months and seven days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Helen Beaver, Darlene Sims, Shirley McCombs and Beverly Awtry; her brother Jack Beaver; and a daughter Jolene Thomas, in 2009.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Don) Sparks; her sons, Eldon Anderson, Fred (Melonie) Anderson and Vincent Anderson all of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren, Stephenie, Nichole, Bryce, Brian, Ben, Amanda, Adam, Jessica, Megan, Shane, Paige and Cody; and 13 great-grandchildren, Payton, Kira, Katie, Brody, Kaleb, Kelby, Nya, Sophia, Gemma, Kimber, Harper, Naiya and Jordyn.
