Mrs. Susan Shirley Expires in Verdi
Mrs, Susan A. Shirley, well known in Reno, died this morning at her home in Verdi after a brief illness.
A native of Coleville, Calif., she was forty-seven years old and had been a resident of this section most of her life. Recently she had been employed at the Johnson Chevrolet Company in Reno.
Surviving are nine children, William A. and Elsworth Shirley of the Navy, Mrs. James Turner of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Esther Lawson and Lester Shirley of Quincy, Calif., David, Richard, Alice and Ann Shirley of Verdi, and a sister, Mrs. John Donaldson of Yerington.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the O'Brien Rogers Company.

Susan A. Shirley Funeral Is Held
Largely attended services were held yesterday for the late Mrs. Susan A. Shirley, well-known resident of Verdi, who died October 17 at the family home.
The service was at 10 a.m. at O'Brien-Rogers chapel, under the direction of the following officers of Crystal Rebekah lodge No. 32 of Verdi: Mabel Napier, Anna Holstrom, Adele Johnson, Avella Jackman and Lillian Perry. The Rev. E.C. Sloan was the clergyman. There were many floral remembrances.
Interment was at Silver Peak Cemetery in Verdi and the pallbearers were A.T. Eveleth, T.E. Durham, Henry Hunker, J.E. Harker, Hugh Holstrom and H.C. Confu.
A son, Ellsworth Shirly, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy Air Corps in Flordia, came to Reno to attend the funeral.
