TRAIN TRAGEDY VICTIMS BURIED

One Funeral Service Held For Four Members Of Kearns Family

Funeral services of Mr. and Mrs. Carvel T. Kearns and their children, Walter John and Carvel T. Kearns, Jr., who were killed Thursday in an automobile-train wreck, near Fresno, were held today at the chapel of J.N. Lisle and were followed by burial in the Sanger Cemetery.

Services for Dana Clayton Acuff, 30, the fifth victim of the accident will be held in McMinnville, Oregon, where the body has been sent by the Mission Undertaking Company.

Acuff, who was driving the car, failed to observe the approach of a Southern Pacific motor train at the Clovis Avenue crossing of the Sanger-Fresno line near Fresno.

Kearns is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kearns of Sanger, a brother, A.J. Kearns of Sanger and a sister, Mrs. Esther Jenkins of Santa Maria. His wife is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ollie Pittman of Elko, Nevada, and Acuff is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Atkins, of Oregon.
