J.J. Bowlen's Sister Dies Here
Mrs. Anne Wright, a sister of Alberta's Lieutenant-Governor J.J. Bowlen, died in Calgary Thursday after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Wright was 74 and had lived in Calgary since 1950. She was born at Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, and had lived at Sturgeon, PEI, until coming to Calgary. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the CWL, the St. Mary's Cathedral Altar Society and the Third Order of St. Francis. Her husband, James Thomas Wight, died in May, 1950.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Sinnott of Morell, PEI; Mrs. David E. Frew and Mrs. Earl Gregory of Calgary; two sons, Emmett A. Wight and Howard Wight of Calgary; two brothers, Hon. J.J. Bowlen and Dominic Bowlen of Carstairs, and two sisters, Mrs. J.J. Curley of Vernon River, PEI, and Mrs. Harold Williams in Maine.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Cathedral Saturday at 11 a.m. Prayers will be held in St. Mary's Cathedral this evening at 7:30. Burial will take place in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery. McInnis and Holloway are in charge of funeral arrangements.
