"YORK
Died, Nov. 26th, 1881, Mrs. Rosina Salmon, aged 76 years. Mrs. Salmon's life has always been that of a humble, consistent christian. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Wm. H. Guy. The body was interred at Hamilton's Corners. Mrs. Mary Phillips and Mrs. Lucretia Taylor of Broadhead [sic] [Green County], Wis., were present at the funeral, and will remain in town a few weeks."
Notes:
Rosina was first married to Robert Patterson and second to Roderick Salmon.
Rosina's first husband, Robert William Patterson was wounded in the Mexican-American war and died about 1848. No record of his burial has been found.
In 2006 a search was made of the cemetery for Rosina's tombstone but none was found. According to the volunteer who looked, many of the older tombstones no longer exist.
