Mrs Mary Sodja, 816 Grand Avenue, widow of Joseph Sodja, died at 9am Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of several years.
Funeral services will be held at 9am Thursday at st.Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr.F.P.Cawley officiating. Burial will be in Calvay Cemetery. Rosary Service will be at 8 pm Wednesday at the Callahan Chapel.
Mary Stulac was born April 1, 1879 at vivodina Yugoslavia, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Stulac. She came to the United State as a young woman in 1899, and she and Mr. Sodja were married Nov. 12, of that year at Leadville.
Mr. and Mrs. Sodja resided in Leadville until 1901, when they removed to Crested Butte, They removed to Palisade in 1916, and to Fruitvale in 1923.
Mr. Sodja a miner and farmer, died in 1933.
Mrs Sodja was a member of the St.Joseph's Catholic Church and the Croation Lodge in Denver.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Mary Ruden, Lewistown, Idaho, Mrs. Ann Kosmac, Helper Utah, Mrs. Floren Petek, Grand Junction, and Mrs Harold stafford, Clifton: one stepdaughter, Barbara Ellen, New Jersey; a niece, Annie Shalinger, Crested Butte; 31 Grand Children, and 28 Great Grand Children.
