Rose Ann (Knipper) Lierz, formerly of Kansas City, KS, passed away March 1, 2005, at St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs, MO. Rose was born May 12, 1917, in Kansas City, KS, to Albert and Mary (Hasenkamp) Knipper. In 1934, she married Clarence (Dutch) Lierz, and together they farmed in northeast Kansas until 1958. Moving to Atchison, KS, she worked at Thornings Tea Room for five years. In 1964, she moved back to Kansas City, KS, and began a 20 year career as a pharmacy technician with Katz Drugs and later Skaggs Drugs. During her career, she earned the respect and admiration of her coworkers and customers who always sought the advice and assistance of "Miss Rose." After her retirement, Rose dearly loved traveling throughout the country and spending many hours indulging in her lifelong enjoyment of reading. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clarence (Dutch) Lierz and her son Donald A. Lierz. 2 sons and a daughter survive her. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
