Jerry Marsh, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood, SD. Jerry celebrated his 84th birthday in July. He was born in Rapid City, SD on July 23, 1930. Jerry graduated from High School, before he enrolled in the Navy on February 8, 1951. He was discharged on January 21, 1955.

When Jerry came back to SD, he continued to ranch with his father and mother, Earl & Purl Marsh and brother, Kenny. Jerry was very proud of the registered Hereford Bulls and cattle that they produced and sold on a yearly basis at their ranch in Caputa, SD. The Marsh Herford Ranch was home to Jerry for 63 years just east of Caputa, SD until he took a fall in the 2013.

Jerry was an intricate part in the St. Germaine Water Association, the Black Hills Stock Show, Central States Fair and several other Ag related committees throughout the years while accepting many honors. Jerry enjoyed, was watching the animals like deer, fox and run through his yard while watching the changes of season.

He loved playing Cribbage with a good cup of coffee. Jerry wasn’t a man of many words, but his knowledge, his loving heart, that huge smile and fun sense of humor will be missed by many. He is survived by a brother, A private service will be held in Jerry’s honor.
