She was a member of the Burks Branch Baptist Church. She graduated from University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science Degree and received her Master of Teaching Arts from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a retired teacher having taught in the Shelby County School System for 20 years at Henry Clay and 7 years at Heritage Elementary. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She was a former member of the NEA, KEA and SCEA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Turner and her mother, Frances Turner Deindoerfer.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Dennie, Jr., Shelbyville; daughter, Michelle Dennie Clark (Keith); granddaughter, Lauren Clark and grandson, Garrett Clark, all of Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Betts officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. Thursday, August 28th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
