Lester W. Zipperer, Sr., age 81, of 15132 Hillcrest Road, Cato, went to his eternal reward Monday afternoon, April 1, 1996.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. Ronald Colombo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with Sr. Marlene Greatens Homolist with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Lester was born July 29, 1914, in the village of Whitelaw, son of the late George and Frances Klingeisen Zipperer. He grew up in the Whitelaw area and attended schools there. On May 9, 1938, he married the former Sylvia Shimek at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville. She preceded him in death September 15, 1992. Lester and Sylvia farmed in the Taus area all of their lives. Lester was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Kellnersville. He was a carpenter, mechanic and butcher and enjoyed his gardening also. His family and their visits were a focal point in his life.
Survivors include six sons and three daughters-in-law, Lester Jr. and Betty, rural Reedsville, Albert, Menchalville, Robert, at home, Eugene and Gertrude, rural Reedsville, Thomas and Marge, Whitelaw, Michael and Joan, rural Reedsville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Kalies, Wausaukee, Donna and Butch (Vernon) Hickman, St. Nazianz, Mary Lou and Ronald Schultz, rural DePere, Beverly and Frank Griffin, Valders; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Edwin, Manitowoc, Benny and Delores, Manitowoc, Harry, Cato, Thomas, California; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Viola Katheiser, Port Washington, Alvina and Norbert Scharenbroch, Charlevoix, Mich., Marion Freiberg, Manitowoc. Also surviving are 41 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends may call at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Services of Kellnersville, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
For the past three years you've been without your Sylvia. Today you and she will be reunited-together forever. Though we will mourn your passing, you (and mom) will always be in our hearts. May you go with God!
