Albert E. "Al" Arnold, 90, of Independence Village died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center of Peoria.

Born June 7, 1913, in St. David to William and Winnifred Holman Arnold, he married Evelyn V. Everhart on Sept. 15, 1947, in Hanna City. She died Sept. 23, 1995, in Peoria.

He also was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one son, A. Eric; and one grandson.

A World War II Army veteran, he served with the 497th Engineer Battalion in the China-India-Burma Theater.

He worked for MH Equipment Inc. for 16 years, retiring as administrative co-ordinator in 1981.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
