Joshua Hallock was born in Dutchess County, New York on August 27, 1770 to Peter Hallock Jr and his wife Anna Greene Hallock.
Joshua married Anna Maria (Ann M) Delavergne, daughter of Dr. Benjamin and Ann Baldwin Delavergne at Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Washington Hollow New York in 1797.
Joshua and his family moved to Bath to work in the Delavergne family milling business.
