Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, with the Revs. Phillip and Ginny Olson officiating. Burial was at the Lincoln Cemetery. The French & Balik Funeral Home of Decorah handled arrangements.
Rose (Tieskotter) Rosendahl was born Jan. 10, 1911, near Ossian, the daughter of William and Catherine (Busch) Tieskotter. She was baptized at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian and was confirmed at the Orleans Lutheran Church May 28,1950.
Rose married Olger Rosendahl Aug. 29, 1928, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah. They were the parents of three sons, Lyle, Gordon and Dennis.
Rose and Olger farmed in the Decorah area for about 10 years before moving to a farm near Ridgeway. In the fall of 1973, they retired to their new home in Decorah. In the fall of 1980, they moved to Youngtown, Ariz.
Survivors include two sons and three daughter-in-laws, Lyle and Rosemary Rosendahl of Ridgeway, Dennis and Sue Rosendahl of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol Rosendahl of Canton, Minn.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Roxann Brown of Denver, Iowa, Darcy Rosendahl of Ridgeway, Kris Lynch of Decorah and Melissa Bolson of Decorah; nine great-grandchildren, Knut and Andrew Brown, Dustin and Caleb Rosendahl, Emily, Abby and Molly Lynch, and Jacob and Alex Bolson; and one sister, Viola Palmer of Decorah.
Rose Rosendahl was preceded in death by her parents; husband Olger; son Gordon in 1984; granddaughter Kathrine Rosendahl; sister Hilda; and brothers Ed and Ervin.
