SARANAC LAKE - Leander Begor, 82, of Vermontville died Tuesday morning at General Hospital.
Mr. Begor had been a resident of Vermontville for 60 years.
He was a veteran of World War II and a carpenter with Potter and DeWitt Construction Co.
Mr. Begor was born in Ellenburg, the son of Ogden and Barbara (Campbell) Begor.
His wife, the former Minnie Patnode, died in 1968.
Survivors include four daughters, Mildred Brown of Franklin Falls, Doris Stickney of iBloomingdale, Cynthia Oliver of Gabriels, and June Begor of Lake Clear; four sons, Raymond and Marvin, both of Vermontville, Dennis of Saranac Lake and Paul, of Las Vegas; 32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Fortune Funeral Home.
There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John McClester, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Brighton Cemetery in May. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the rescue squad.
