Mr. James Alvin Martin, 71, passed away August 18, 2014 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Monday, August 25, 2014 at Natchez Trace Funeral Chapel in Madison with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 AM at Natchez Trace Funeral Home. Mr. Martin, a longtime resident of Jackson, served in the U.S Army. He had worked with S.N. Thomas & Son, Barefield Company, Stationers, Baldwin-Lee Funeral Homes and Dillards. He had been a member of the choir at First Baptist Church in Jackson for 15 years and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Madison and active in their choir. Mr. Martin is survived by his daughter, Shelby M. Williams (Michael) of Calhoun, GA; sister, Etoy M. Ellis of Bolton, MS; grandchildren, Owen W. Williams, Colton H. Williams and Gunner J. Williams, all of Calhoun, GA; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
