Mary C. Towne, 92, of Peoria, formerly of Oak Hill, died Wednesday, April 12, 1995, at her residence.
Born July 4, 1902, near Wyoming to John and Sara Edith Montooth Johnson, she married Howard R. Towne on Sept. 27, 1921, in Ottawa. He died Jan. 22, 1988. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Wayne of rural Elmwood; four daughters, Betty Avery of Peoria, Dorothy Greenstreet of Maquon, Margery Clark of Abingdon and Joyce Thompkins of Galesburg; and one sister, Marguerite Hufnagel of Peoria.
She lived near Oak Hill for 41 years and was a Peoria resident since 1993.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
