Mrs. John Lynch, long time
resident of this community, passed
away at St. Joseph hospital,
Centerville at 1:15 a. m. on November
29. She had been ill for a
long time. Death was due to a
heart ailment and complications.
Rosa Lee Henson, daughter of
John C. and Sarah Mastin Henson,
was born Sept. 9, 1873 in
Clinton, Illinois, and at the age
of 9 came with her parents in a
covered wagon and located in
this community which has since
been her home. She was 85
years, 2 months and 19 days old.
Living in this vicinity all her
life she attended Moulton schools
and throughout the years has
made countless friends. She was
a member of the Moulton Methodist
church.
She was united in marriage to
John S. Lynch on February 23,
1895, and to this union seven
children were born. Surviving
are Mrs. Alpha Allan Wahl,
Goldene, George, Lysle, Clifford
and Agnes Lynch, all of near
Moulton, two grandsons, Stuart
and Larry Lynch, and one great
granddaughter, Rhonda Lynne
Lynch. One daughter, Mrs. Dorothy
Sheets preceded her in
death in 1942. Her husband died
in 1956.
She was the last of her parental
family. The parents, three
sisters and two brothers having
preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lynch was a noted cook
and had won many awards in
baking competition. She was extremely
fond of flowers, particularly
pink roses, and her hobby
was singing and writing poetry
She was a Christian woman
of sterling character who devoted
her life to her family and
home.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon at the Eagle
Funeral Home conducted by Rev.
Banks Doggett, Jr., pastor of the
Moulton Methodist church. Burial
was in Oakland cemetery.
