Sara “Sally” Griffin, 90, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2013, at Touchmark at All Saints. Above all, Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Sally Elizabeth Bozarth, daughter of Casper and Mary (Vosika) Bozarth, was born in Brookings, SD, July 22, 1923. Sally grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated from Washington High School in 1941.

Sally and Willard Peterson were united in marriage. Willard died while serving in the military. The couple had a son, Jon.

In the late 1940s, Sally met John Griffin. The two married on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, 1950, in Sioux City, IA. The couple then returned to Sioux Falls where they helped develop what is now Lewis Drug Inc. While Sioux Falls was their home base, the couple also spent considerable time traveling. John and Sally enjoyed spending winters in Sun City, AZ and also traveled internationally. Sally loved telling stories about their many adventures. John passed away on December 1, 1986, after 36 years of loving marriage.

Sally was an active member of Chapter BC PEO and the First Presbyterian Church and participated in bridge and mahjong clubs. She also regularly donated items to local charities. Always upbeat, kind, and funny, she was a people person through and through.

Sally was preceded in death by her husbands and brother Jack.
