M. H. CANTRELL
M. H. Cantrell, a resident of East Point for many years, died yesterday at his home, 118 Knott Avenue, East Point. He is survived by his wife; five sons, R. A., W. W. and D. P. Cantrell of Smithville, Tennessee and J. C. Cantrell of Detroit; four daughters, Mrs. D. D. Tucker, Mrs. T. L. Collier, Mrs. S. E. White and Mrs. C. H. Johnson; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the First Methodist Church of East Point with the Rev. J. T. Robbins officiating. burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, with Howard L. Carmichael in charge.
--------------------
Son of W. W. Cantrell (Tn) and Corrie Magnum/Cantrell (Tn.)- this is from the death certificate. Married to Martha Jane Potter. They were married in DeKalb County, Tennessee on 1/17/1879.
This was sent to me:
Madison's parents were William Riley Cantrell and Constance Maud Magness.
------------
The correct birth date is 1851, not 1859. The entry on the death certificate could easily be misread. He appears in seven census records and his birth date in every one is 1851 or 1852. His birthday in July would have usually been after the census date, so 1851 would be the correct year.
