His memberships included, Antioch Fire Department, Antioch Rescue Squad and a Past President, Antioch Lions Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #525, Republican Precinct Committee Man and Antioch Township Republican Chairman of the Lake County Central Committee. He also served as a Deputy Coroner for the County of Lake for several years. Bill loved to ride his motorcycle and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cub fan.
On February 14, 2001 he married Sandi Schaeffer in Rockton, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Sandi; his four sons, Scott of Antioch, Greg (Annette) of Greenly, CO, Chris of North Glen, CO, and Keith (Nicole) of Henderson, CO; six grandchildren, Scotty, Nicolas, Gregory, Jeremy, Konnor and Morgan; his great-granddaughter, Riley Jean; his sister, Georgia (Fred) Bieschke of Chicago; his Brother, Spiro (Diane) of Antioch; several nieces, nephews and many many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, George DeBota; two brothers, Julius and Peter; and a sister, Carline.
Funeral Services with Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. Ignatius Episcopal Church, 500 East Depot Street, Antioch with Rev. Timothy J. Squier officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. and at the church from 10:00 a.m., Monday, until the time of services. Information, 847-395-4000.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Antioch Rescue Squad or St. Ignatius Church, in his memory.
