Mr. Veley was a son of Peter Veley, a pioneer resident of Bath and had been married three times. His first wife was Miss Tichnor, his second wife was Miss Seager and the third, who survives, Mrs. Sarah Smith. Two sisters live in Bath, Mrs. Cornelius Veley and Mrs. Mary Ann McCarrick, also a half-brother Willard Chapman. Another half brother, Isaac Chapman is a resident of Canandaigua.
