Brenda Gale Bowman, 66, of Buffalo, Texas, formerly a resident of Pasadena and Deer Park, Texas went to be with her Lord on August 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Ephesus Baptist Church in Jewett. Bro. Ray Payne will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, August 17th, at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. A second service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Memorial Baptist Church, 6901 Faimont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Interment will follow in the Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, TX 77505. Mrs. Bowman was born on October 4, 1947 to H.G. & Helen (Fisher) Brown in Greenville, South Carolina. She was the tenth of eleven children. Her family moved to Texas in 1951 at the insistence of Brenda’s sister, Kathleen. Kathleen was the person who chose Brenda Gale as her little sister’s name. Mrs. Bowman was a 1966 graduate of CHS where she was blessed with many honors. She was chosen “Miss CHS” her senior year and received the DAR Good Citizen Award. She cheered the Falcons for four years and was Head Cheerleader as a senior. Mrs. Bowman was also the Vice President of her senior class. She married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Bowman on July 1, 1966. Mrs. Bowman was employed at Channelview ISD for four years, then moved on to the Law Office of Frank B. Gray. In 1979, she began working for George J. Rice, MD; Hugo Orellana, MD and Anthony L. Leger, DDS until stricken with lung cancer in 1996. In 1998, the Bowmans purchased the Bowman Ranch in Buffalo, Texas as their retirement place. Throughout this time in her life, Mrs. Bowman enjoyed canning, watching Wheel of Fortune, spending time with her family and church activities. She especially enjoyed VBS and teaching her third grade class which she taught for a number of years. Mrs. Bowman’s legacy was her Christian life. She would always place others before herself and made sure her children were always taken care of. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by both of her parents; sisters, Edna, Doris, Coleen, Kathleen and Barbara and two brothers, Carl & Jerry Alton. She is survived by her soul-mate of forty-eight years, Clarence Bowman of Buffalo; daughter, Kelly Ann (Bowman) Lindsay of Klein; son, Carl Alex Bowman of Kerrville; granddaughters, Paige Elizabeth Bowman, Peyton Alison Lindsay, Parker Anne Lindsay and Presley Abigail Lindsay of Klein; brothers, Dr. James Brown & wife, Johnelle, of Pasadena and G. Gardner Brown & wife, Becky, of Victoria; sister, Carolyn Joyce Stahl of Kingwood; six nieces; three nephews and special friends, Larry & Marsha Page. She is also survived by her family pets, Katie-Beth and Hudson.
