Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Stahl was born on July 20, 1941 to Henry Grady and Effie Helen (Fisher) Brown in Greenville, South Carolina. She passed away February 15, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas. She was the eighth of eleven children. Her family moved to Texas in 1952. Mrs. Stahl attended Galena Park High School. Carolyn was a homemaker and worked in the retail industry throughout her career. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Kingwood, Texas, and she loved worshipping Jesus with her weekly Sunday school class. Carolyn "Memaw" loved spending time with her family, friends, and her favorite companion, her dog, Hampton. Carolyn was a very sweet and kind person who loved helping others. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to all kinds of music and dancing at family gatherings. Her greatest joys in life were her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Stahl married John M. Thompson on January 30, 1959. They had three beautiful children, Vickie Lynn, Carla Ann, and Milton Keith who were the center of her life. Later in life she was blessed to marry Billy Bryan Stahl. Carolyn was proceeded in death by both of her parents; sisters, Edna, Doris, Collen, Kathleen Barbara, and Brenda and two brothers, Carl, and Alton. She was also proceeded by her son Keith, and her husband Bill. She is survived by her daughters Vickie Lynn (Thompson) Fancy, her husband William George Fancy from Kingwood, daughter Carla Ann (Thompson) Woodard from Kingwood; granddaughter Ashley Lynn Fancy from Kingwood, and grandsons Jake David Woodard from Leakey, Blake William Fancy, and his fiancée Gracie from Crosby; great grand children Riley Jane Woodard and Darryn James Woodard from Leakey, Braelynn Marie Fancy from Crosby. She is also survived by her brothers Dr. James Brown of Pasadena, and G. Gardner Brown, wife Becky of Victoria, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10:00 am at Grand View Funeral Home followed by a committal service at Grand View Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery
