Willa Mae Ridings Phillips Jones, 78, of Washington, Illinois passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 3:35 am at UnityPoint Health-Methodist, Peoria. She was born on May 18, 1936 in Eagen, Tennessee to Boyd and Marie (Brown) Ridings. She married Donald Phillips, Sr. on July 13, 1952 in Spring Bay, Illinois. He preceded her in death. She then married Vincent Jones on July 17, 1995 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He survives.

Also surviving are her four children, Vicky (Dale) Ehringer of Peoria, Barbara (Ron) Pohlman of Bartonville, Paula (Dan) Mailloux of Germantown Hills, and Donald (Judi) Phillips, Jr. of Metamora; her step-children, Rick Jones and Darrin Jones both of Pekin, Dawn (Chuck) Smith of Peoria, and Kimberly (William) Abbey of Elkhart, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Rose (Harold) Kenyon of Cleveland, Tennessee and Boyd Wayne (Donna) Ridings of Avon Park, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold (Bill) Ridings, sister Betty Ridings, and great-granddaughter Madison Murray.

Willa spent her youth in the hills of Tennessee where her father was a coal miner. She then moved to Spring Bay, Illinois at the age of fourteen. Through her life Willa was a young entrepreneur owning and operating two restaurants in Metamora and the Love Boatique II in Washington as a cosmetologist. She worked at K-Mart in Peoria as a department manager. She then retired from the Caterpillar East Peoria factory, after 28 years of service.

She loved their winter home in Florida with her many friends. She enjoyed quilting, gospel music, singing, watching her grandchildren play sports and attending many family functions. Willa was a member of Riverside Community Church in Peoria where she loved to hear the Word of God. She had a passion for sharing the gospel and was a great woman of faith. She leaves behind a legacy of Jesus lovers. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Fishkin and his team for their caring support.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend John King officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Illinois Cancer Care Center, 8940 Wood Sage Road, Peoria, Illinois, 61615.
