Hiram E. Johnston Succumbs Suddenly

Taken ill suddenly Thursday afternoon, Hiram E. Johnston, age 48, of 253 W. Popular Avenue, died at 7 A.M. Friday morning in White Cross Hospital. Cause of his illness had not been determined Friday. For about 10 years Mr. Johnston had been employed at The Scott Krauss News Agency, Inc., as a shipping clerk, but had been on vacation for the past week and was fishing on Wednesday. He was a member of the Neil Avenue M.E. and the Men's Council of that church. Friends may call at the residence from Saturday afternoon until 12:30 p.m. Monday, when the body will be in state in Neil Avenue church until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery by the Edward E. Fisher Co.

Mr Johnston is survived by his wife Lovina Johnston; brother, Walter Johnston of Stratford, Ohio; sister, Irene Evans of near Grandville.
