Emma grew up in American Fork & enjoyed her youth and became a happy, carefree, fun loving & beautiful woman. In the 1894 census she is listed as a "domestic" (age 18) in Salt Lake.
She married the love of her life, Clarence Rawlings (also descended from Mormon pioneer wagon train parents) on Feb. 22, 1899 in Salt Lake. The minister was A.O. Smoot II. Emma & Clarence moved to Denver abt 1922 as he was a Supervisor for the railroad. She was a charter member of the Radiant Chapter of Eastern Star, and a member of the White Shrine & LDS Church.
They were blessed with one daughter.
Emma had a rich, full life. Her family enjoyed being with her & remembers her beautiful, long red hair that she wore in a bun on top of her head, red nails, and playing bingo. Still feisty at age 74, she visited Honolulu by herself in 1951 before it became a state!
She passed away at the age of 84 from heart disease. She missed husband Clarence deeply after he passed in 1945.
