Mrs. Mary Rueter, 70, of 1517 South Twelth, wife of William Rueter, was stricken on the sidewalk in front of Boekenhoff Bakery at 626 Maine Saturday afternoon and was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary Hospital 12:45, where she was taken by police ambulance.
Mrs Rueter was born in Quincy Jan 25, 1892, a daughter of Clem and Theresa Schonoff Strieker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosery Alter society of the church. She was married to William Rueter Feb 7, 1920, in St. Mary church Parsonage. She was preceded in death by three brothers Clem, Joseph, and Henry Strieker, and a sister Mrs. Anna Horn.
Surviving are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Lillian) Kennedy, Mrs. Robert (Loretta) Borderwick and Mrs. Fred (Virginia) Berter, of Quincy, a son William L Rueter, Edward and Bernard STrieker of Quincy; nine groundchildren, and nieces and nephews.
