Robert Lane Burd was born Jan 6, 1890, the son of a blacksmith, Peter E. Burd and Josephine Voorhees. He married Sadie M. Walsh in 1916. They had 6 children - Josephine, Robert, Florence, Donald, Edward, and Ernest. Donald was killed in WW2 - as a Staff Sergeant/Gunner on a B-24 bomber that was shot down over the coast of New Guinea on March 11, 1944.
