Jack Barden passed away on August 2, 2014 at his home in Topeka, Kansas. Jack was born to Jack Edward Barden,Sr. and Winnifred Barden (Short) on December 26, 1951 in Des Moines. He graduated from North High School in 1969. Following graduation Jack served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After the war he came home where he continued his service in the Iowa National Gaurd. On October 15, 1975 he married Connie Jo Barden.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack Edward Barden, Sr. and Winnifred Barden and a daughter Cheryl Lynn Barden.

He is survived by his wife: Connie Jo Barden; Sons: Tony Alden and son-in-law Michael H Leeper; Daughters: Lisa Lockridge, Nikki Leeper, Bobbi Barden, and daughter-in-law Toni Blair; Grandchildren: Michael Leroy Leeper, Paige Renae Lewis, Marion Grace Alden, Cameron Lloyd Lewis, Stephanie Lynn Lockridge, Madison Lee Sharp, Bradley Michael Lockridge, Jordan James Barden, and Jack Nicholas Barden; Siblings: Dennis Barden, Becky Bartholemy, Audrey Rivas, Gary Barden, Michael Barden, and Patrick Barden.

Jack enjoyed riding his motorcycle, classic cars, and attending old west cowboy club. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Jack will be buried at sea. A memorial plaque will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
