Author, Composer. A native of New York, New York, he was educated at Syracuse University and at Yale Law School. He wrote material for the likes of Carl Ballantine, Larry Hankin, and the Charles Playhouse in Boston, Massachusetts, but is best known for being a lyricist for the long-running children's program, "Sesame Street." A member of ASCAP since 1961, he also did the sketches, "Rod-Wright," and "Uncle Bergie." He died in New York following a battle with lung cancer.
