Lucille "Lou" Cathey, 94, of Temple, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, in a local care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Lucille was born in Canton, Texas, to the late Nim Golden and Jessie Ora Bateman Hall. She was reared and educated near Abilene. Lou married Glenn Cathey on December 4, 1941. She had been a resident of Temple over 50 years. Lou was a member of First United Methodist Church in Temple.

She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters; and daughter, Betty Lou Cathey.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Cathey, of Temple; son, Toby Cathey and wife, Sheryl, of Temple; grandchildren, Kami Wagoner and husband, Kirk, of Devine, and Kelly Cathey and wife, Melissa, of Claremore, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Madison, Noah, Kason, Kassidee and Kyndle; nieces, Barbara Arndt, of Detroit, MI, and Cheri Stevens, of Arlington; other relatives and many friends.
