Leonard J. Seybold, 71, of Forest Junction, a well-known Calumet County farm leader, died unexpectedly Monday, November 13, at Appleton.

He was born June 2, 1896, in the town of Brillion, a son of John and Lydia (Kloehn) Seybold. He married Sarah Schubring on March 21, 1917. She died in April of 1944.
On June 1, 1944, Mr. Seybold married Dorothy Keller at Forest Junction.

He worked as an area supervisor for Carnation Farms, Piper Brothers Division, Watertown. Mr. Seybold was the manager of the Calumet 400 Sales for 18 years, secretary – treasurer of the Calumet County Holstein Friesian Association for 27 years, president of the Wisconsin Holstein Friesian Association and a past president of the Farm Bureau of the town of Brillion.

He also was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Forest Junction where he served as a trustee from 1949 to 1960 and as a Sunday School teacher for 52 years.

Mr. Seybold also was the highway commissioner of the town of Brillion and secretary-treasurer of the School Grove Co-op.

Survivors besides his wife, Dorothy; six sisters, Mrs. John (Viola) Trautman, Appleton; Mrs. Milan (Hattie) Relim, Indianapolis, Ind.; Miss Leah Seybold, Kenosha; Mrs. Hubert (Pearl) Pickens, Downey, Calif.; Mrs. Herman (Helen) Schreiber, Sheboygan; Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Anderson, Merrill; two brothers, Edwin of Hilbert and Dr. John of Madison.

Funeral services will be at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Forest Junction, The Rev. Theodore Jordan, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Appleton.
