Edith Aimone Syme, 83, of Henderson, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014. Her family and friends were blessed to be with her in her final days. She was a brave, strong soul, with an incredible will to survive.

Born April 11, 1931, the 11th of 13 children, in Fort Bridger, Wyo., the daughter of Joseph Aimone (deceased) and Frances Cerva Aimone (deceased).

She was a loving wife for 51 years to her dear James Cecil Syme (deceased), and an amazing mother to her three daughters.

She was very proud of her seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was so loved and revered as the matriach of this family. Families are eternal.

Edith is survived by her brother, Martin Aimone, of Fort Bridger; and her sister, Isabel (Vic) Hoffman of Las Vegas; her brother-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Syme; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Blackburn, Nadine Owens and Mary Aimone; daughters, Nancy (David) Wood and Marilee (Brett) Stewart of Henderson, and Renita (Steve) Willis of Las Vegas; her grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, with services following at 10:30 a.m., all at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Burkholder Chapel, 1002 Burkholder Blvd., Henderson.
