Ruth L. Burnham
CHILLICOTHE, Mo.--Ruth Leona (Berry) Burnham, 81, Chillicothe, formerly of St. Joseph, died Wednesday, Feb. 25 1998, at a Kansas City hospital.
For 30 years, Mrs. Burnham had been an inspector for the former Big Smith clothing manufactruer until retiring in 1982.
Born in Osborn, Mo., on May 23, 1916, she had lived in St. Joseph until moving to Chillicothe i 1982. She was a member of the Savannah Avaenue Baptist Church in St. Joseph.
In June 1932, she married Raymond Burnham in Troy, Kan. He died in 1977.
Mrs. Burnham also was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara M. Berry; five brothers, Lee, William, Wayne, Rolland, and Ocal; and a grandchild.
Surviving: two daughters, Connie Burnett and Phyllis Merrill, both of St. Joseph; a brother; James H. Berry, Springville, Utah; a sister, Betty McCort, Chillicothe; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: after noon today, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight.
