Eleanor attended schools in Bangor and Hermon was a graduate of Hermon High School. She married the love of her life, Francis McDonald in 1945 and they lived in Hermon all of their married life. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a smile and a joke to tell. She loved laughter, music, bingo in later years and in her early years, camping, snowmobiling and fun with family and friends. She will be missed by her family and friends at Westgate. Eleanor’s family gratefully thanks the staff of Westgate Manor for the wonderful care and friendships and thanks her dear friend and caregiver Darlene Enman of whom she was very fond.
Surviving are three children, Dale and Ginny McDonald of Clifton, Lynn Shaw and her fiancé, Barry Ross of Carmel and Timothy McDonald of Bangor; six grandchildren, Michael McDonald and his wife, Tonya, Chris McDonald and his wife, Auburn, Julie Patterson and her husband, Greg, Wayne Shaw, Jr and his wife Laura, Kate McDonald and Lucas McDonald; four great grandchildren, Hunter McDonald, Kaden Shaw, Genevieve McDonald and Isabella McDonald. She was predeceased by her husband in 2001, two great grandsons, Levi and Samuel and all her siblings.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond St. Ext, Bangor.
