David Gore, 58, walked into the arms of Jesus at his home in Chiefland, surrounded by his family. David was born August 30, 1955 to David C. Gore Sr. and Violet Geiger Lester. He lived and worked in Chiefland all of his life, retiring from Central Florida Electric Co-OP, after his diagnosis, with 41 years of service. David is a born again believer of the Baptist Faith and loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends, especially in Gulf Hammock hunting.
David was pre-deceased by his father, David C. Gore Sr., his stepfather, Floyd Lester, and his brother Greg (Connie) Gore.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 38 years, Karen, his two sons and daughters-in-Love, Jared and Kyndal, Jason and Stephanie, and his two hunting buddies, grand daughters, Brylan and Baylor. His mother, Violet Lester, sister and brother-in-law, Susan and James Horne. His in-laws that loved him like their own, G.C. and Jackie Cannon, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Craig Mikell, nieces and nephews, his hunting buddy John (Angie) Jordan and a slew of co-workers and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Chapel and Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10 AM with Pastor Jamie Brock and Dr. Greg Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Chiefland.
