Meredith "Billie" Turner Smith passed away 7-25-2014. Born in LaGrange, GA 2-23-1917 to William H. Turner, Jr. and Hazel Vorus Turner, predeceased by sisters, Hazel Turner Kump and Martha Turner Smith. A graduate of LaGrange H. S., attended Agnes Scott Women's College and graduated from the Univ. of GA. with an English Major and Masters in Education. She married Henry Carson Smith, Jr. and raised three children living in Atlanta and Buford. She taught elementary school at Buford for nine years. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, Stonehedge Garden Club, Daughters of the Americian Revolution, and Northside UMC. Survived by children: Henry Carson Smith III, Meredith Smith Nicholson, and Sterling Smith McLaughlin; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Burial Broadlawn.
