John was the son of Henry Penington 1660-1702 and Elizabeth Boyer 1665-?. He married Sarah Biddle 3 Apr 1716, she was born: 11 Apr 1702 and died: 3 Sep 1739 . Their children were Rachel Biddle Penington (1720-1784), John Jr.(1717 - 1755), Benjamin(1728 - 1766), Sarah(1730 - ....), Samuel(1733 - 1786), Thomas(1736 - 1791) and Edward(1739 - 1760). After her death John married Mary Othoson on Oct 1740. They then had two children: William Boyer Penington(1741 - 1770) and Sarah Penington(1743 - ....) both born in Cecil County, Maryland.
