Graveside services for Lena Martin, of Abernathy, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, Texas. The family will receive friends at Abell Funeral Home Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Martin died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born in Shawnee, Okla. to James Richard and Virgie (Williams) Baker. She married Ray Martin and after 45 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Dee Williamson in 1984 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She worked as a bookkeeper for Levelland City Gin office, Dimmitt Gin and the Martin Gin of Abernathy. She later worked in Lubbock at The Bridal Shoppe, Hackels, Hemphill Wells Tea Room as a cashier, Brandi's in Security Park, White's Tot Shop and LaCreme Fashions in Cactus Alley. She taught a young girl's Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas for several years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy, the Country Garden Club and 1935 Study Club. She was the last surviving of ten children. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Glenda Jones and son Austin Jones, Dwain Baker and his wife Mary Lue all of Lubbock, Texas and Jo Nell Montgomery and her companion David of Euless, TX and many other loving nieces and nephews.
