Sarah Barry Calvert, age 88, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, in Maysville. She was born February 17, 1926, in Maysville, to the late John and Theresa Peters Barry. She was employed by Bell South for 35 years and was a lifetime member of Saint Patrick Church, where she volunteered for several years in different capacities. Although she had no children of her own, she cared for her nieces and nephews like they were her own, especially her great-nephew, Justin Sanders, who was very dear to her.

In addition to Justin, she is survived by: a sister, Rosie Donk, of Aurora, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 62 years, "Gentleman" James Calvert; two sisters, Mary Sanders and Agnes Helbling; and four brothers, Pat Barry, Jack Barry, Dan Barry and Martin Barry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Saint Patrick Church, with Rev. Michael Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Brell and Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Patrick School.
