Travis Edgar 53, and his wife Helena, 41, of 316 Madison NE, were killed in a two-car collision on West Central Ave. in Albuquerque early Thursday.
Police said they were following a car west on Central, when the Edgars' vehicle, which was southbound on 63rd, pulled into Central to make a left turn.
The driver of the westbound car, on Central, Manuel B. Morales, 30, of 406 Arno SE, told police he did not see the Edgars' car before impact.
Morales was taken to Presbyterian Hospital by Gold Cross ambulance and treated for cuts on his face and right leg. He was held for observation, and reported in good condition.
Upon impact, the Edgars' vehicle was knocked 110 feet west before striking a parked car, which was unoccupied. The Morales car continued west 170 feet after the collision.
Mrs. Edgar, who was believed to be the driver, was thrown from the car onto the median. Edgar apparently was thrown into the back seat, police said.
Ambulance drivers reported Mrs. Edgar was still alive upon arrival at the hospital at 12:25 a.m. She was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. Edgar was pronounced dead at 12:32.
Sgt. Floyd Avila said no charges will be filed.
Officers Art Monteith, Bill Mitchell and Ken Crooks were the policemen who witnessed the accident.
