Funeral services for Henry B. Hanson, 78, of 700 Park Street, Decorah, were held Wednesday at Decorah Lutheran Church. Mr. Hanson, who was a retired farmer, died March 15 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after an illness of several weeks.

Pastor Alden H. Hovda conducted the services. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Duane Hanson, Charles Ollendieck, Pamer Ruffridge, Norbert Tierney, Melvin Noecker and David Chrisman. Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist, and Harvin Christen was soloist. Funeral services were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Mr. Hanson is survived by a son, Harold Hanson of Minneapolis; a daughter, Marjorie Born of Richmond, Calif.; two grandchildren, Randy and Jill Hanson; two brothers, James Hanson of Decorah and Raymond Hanson of Calmar and two sisters, Mrs. Orlando Tovson and Gertie Smorstad, both of Decorah.

Henry B. Hanson was born in Iowa March 21, 1896, the son of the late Hans and Josie Hanson. He attended the Decorah schools and graduated from Iowa State College of Ames. He was married in 1921 to Elizabeth Vine and his wife preceded him in death in 1929.

Mr. Hanson served in World War I and belonged to the D.A.V., the American Legion and the V.F.W. He also was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.
