Kenneth A. Givens, Sr., passed away on August 9, 2014, at the age of 92 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born February 26, 1922 to Lester Givens and Lydia Moore Givens in Anson Texas. Kenneth moved to the Corpus Christi area in the early 1940's and worked for Bonhams and Biel's Grocery stores of Corpus Christi. He was the owner of the Givens Appaloosa Farm in Callallen and the President of the Nueces County Youth Rodeo Association of 1969. After retirement he operated and owned Kens Country Cafe in Concan, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters Lilly Moore and Tena Elliott and two brothers Oliver Givens and Barney Givens.

Mr. Givens is survived by three sons: Tim K. Givens, Kenny A. Givens Jr. and wife Susan Givens, Pat A. Givens and wife Diane Givens; one daughter Jan Whittington. One stepson Kit H. Moore and wife Kim Moore, three stepdaughters: Liz M. Hamilton and husband Nathan Hamilton, Kathy M. Hunter and Becky M. Clubb. He was blessed with 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
