Alex "A.J." Garcia, Jr., of N. Maple St., passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 in Carlsbad.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 19) at Loving Baptist Church in Loving, NM. Pastor Zach Palen will officiate. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (new section).
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Monday at West Funeral Home.
A.J. was born in Fresno, CA on September 27, 1985. He moved to Carlsbad in 1998 and attended school in Loving. He worked in the oilfield and enjoyed bowling and music. He loved his kids and spending time with them.
A.J. is survived by his mother Wendy and husband Herb Hartley; father Alex Garcia, Sr.; daughters: Arianna and Arissa Garcia; son Alejandro Garcia; girlfriend Jocelyn Carrasco; sister Anna Garcia; brother Joshua Garcia; grandmothers: Patricia Stevenson and Wilda Garcia; aunt Shelly Van Horn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
