HUDSON, Fla., and OTIS - Clara Belle (Porter) Reed, passed away Jan. 26, 2014, at HPH Hospice, Hudson, Fla., after an extended period of declining health. Clara was born Feb. 9,1921, in Newburgh, the second child of Percy and Belle (Peirce) Porter.
Clara was a waitress for many years in the Brewer/Bangor area. Clara and her husband Lowell enjoyed many years at their camp on Beech Hill Pond in Otis with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Clara was predeceased by her husband in 2007; her youngest son, Lewis C. Reed Sr.; her parents; and three brothers, Robert, Richard, and Rodney Porter.
Clara is survived by two sons, Arthur "Dickie" and Nancy of Hudson, Fla., and Otis, and Robert "Bob" and A. Debbie of Gretna, La.; 11 grandchildren, Rick, Greg, and Phil Reed, Laurie Gosselin, Lynn Augustine, Jeff, Mike, Chuck, Matt, and Joey Reed and Robin Wallace; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Cleora McCoy of Hampden and Dot Richardson of Phippsburg; brother, Dana and Carol of Brooksville, Fla.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Committal services will be held in the summer for Clara and Lowell Reed in Otis. Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's name to: HPH Hospice, 12139 Majestic Blvd, Hudson, FL 34667.
