Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Kenney attended the funeral service of young Mr. Posey, son of Mr. Will Posey, and the first of his 14 children to pass across the river. Mr. Posey lived on the Posey farm across the river Flint from Albert Carriger’s. Though ailing for some time did not think he was near death’s door. Was suddenly taken worse and in a few days passed away. Services were held at Bethesda. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved by many friends and acquaintances. Mr. Posey was not married.

Note: This was not his first child to pass away; Stella passed away in 1903.
While William Rufus had had 14 children at this time, he had 3 subsequent children for a total of 17
