L J Hill an elder in the Mormon church and whose home was in Utah and who has been doing missionary work for his church in this section of West Virginia and in the western part of Virginia, was struck by a C & O train some time Monday morning, near Callaghan station and killed. The accident happened in a deep cut west of the station, and it is thought by railroad men that the man was struck by the locomotive which was pulling passenger train No 8. The body was not discovered until late in the afternoon. A deep cut on the head caused the death.
The remains were brought to Ronceverte, and turned over to an embalmer, who prepared the body for shipment to Utah, where it will be buried. The remains were shipped Tuesday night.
The deceased was 22 years of age.
'Squire Crickenberger, of Caldwell, held an inquest Tuesday morning and certified that the death was accidental.
