CHERRYVILLE -- Mrs. Williams, age 84, of 111 Harrelson Road, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Carolina Care Center. She was born December 20, 1918, in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Henry Lee and O'Dell Brinkley Beam. She was a member of the First Wesley Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Williams; sisters, Faith Setzer, Hope Lewis and Clara Wallace; and brother, Murray Beam.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald B. and Judy Williams of Long Beach, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Reschia and Bill Wagner of Manassas, VA; brothers, Don Beam of Kings Mountain, NC, and H. L. Beam, II of Cherryville, NC; sister, Jo Anderson of Cherryville, NC; and one granddaughter, Chauna Williams of Charlotte.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 16, at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter's Funeral Home, with Reverend Mark Poe officiating. Interment will be in Mary's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM tonight at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her sister, Mrs. Jo Anderson, 626 Mary's Grove Road, Cherryville.
Memorials may be made to the First Wesleyan Church, 800 North Pink Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
