Jacob Cordell died at his home two miles above Roadside on Thursday afternoon of a general breaking down of his system having been in failing health for some months.
Mr. Cordel was a private in Co. G. 17th Penna, Calvary and served for about three years during the rebellion. He was a member of the Walker Post G. A. R. this place.
Deceased is survived by three daughters, Lizzie at home, Mrs. Daniel Wolf and Mrs. Lorenzo Crilly near Monterey. He was in the 65th year of his life.
Funeral services at the grave Saturday morning at 11 a.m.. Burial will be in Burns Hill.
